Five Pillars

Our five pillars guide everything we do.

North East Energy Futures CIC is built around five connected pillars. Together, they help us focus on practical public benefit, trusted information and long-term opportunity for communities across the North East.

1. Energy Awareness

Energy can be confusing. We help make it easier to understand by explaining common topics such as energy efficiency, retrofit, renewables, EPCs, insulation, heating, support routes and home energy improvement in plain English.

2. Warmer Homes

Many people want warmer, healthier and more comfortable homes but do not always know where to start. We help communities understand the basics of heat loss, insulation, heating efficiency, ventilation and the wider benefits of better homes.

3. Lower Bills

Lower bills start with better understanding. We help people understand how energy use, home efficiency, behaviour and available support routes can affect household costs.

4. Green Skills

The North East needs clear routes into future green careers. We help schools, young people, colleges, training providers and employers understand pathways into retrofit, renewables, energy efficiency, housing, construction and wider net zero work.

5. Community Benefit

The energy transition must create real community benefit. We support local trust, community engagement, social value, inclusion, access to information and evidence gathering so local people and organisations can benefit from future change.
